  • [ ] Check up on Palestinian friends of yours. They are exhausted and traumatized and it would be nice to know you’re on their side when all the world powers seem to want them dead.

📓 EDUCATION

Target Audiences:

There are three potential groups of people to target: (1) staunch zionists who will listen to nobody likely due to a lifetime of indoctrination, (2) those with less formed opinions who need education but are open to discussion and potentially persuadable, and (3) those who are already anti-genocide and pro-Palestine and just need encouragement to take meaningful actions.

  • (1) Group 1 is the most challenging demographic to engage with because you are working against a lifetime of indoctrination and deep-seated beliefs which take a lot more than one conversation to undo. Don’t waste your energy there. Instead, consider indirect methods such as sharing posts on social media, but avoid fruitless arguments.

  • (2) Group 2 offers more potential for engagement but requires additional time and effort to inspire action. You can and should engage with them directly but they should not be your first priority. Action is what is most important right now to end the ceasefire.

  • (3) Group 3 will be the ones most likely to take immediate and direct action. They already share your values and merely need guidance on what impactful actions to take.

These help me assess where to invest my time and effort, but they are just guidelines. When this crisis first began, I’d respond to every single Zionist comment and DM I received and it tired me out quickly. Instead, I could have been been sharing resources with people amenable to them. Evaluate the energy you have and where it would be best spent.
